Shirley M. Hart, age 90, of LaGrange, died Monday, February 6, 2023, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett, IN.
Ms. Hart was born on April 29, 1932, in Elkhart to Harry and Lucille (Jones) Munson.
Living for most of her life in LaGrange County, she worked in quality control at Ivers-Lee in Shipshewana. Shirley was a member of the Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church where she had been active with the Pretty Prairie United Methodist Women and sang with the women’s group. In her younger years, she was an avid square dancer, bowled for many years in leagues in the area, and enjoyed playing card games with other couples. She loved to read, traveling with her sisters, and the time spent with her family and church family.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Pam Hart-Fry and Dale Fry of LaGrange; her son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Lindy Hart of Howe; a daughter-in-law, Lynda Hart of Centreville; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Nelson of LaGrange, and Carol Fitts of White Pigeon.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Harry and Lucille Munson; her two sons, Delmer Hart and Brian Hart; two sisters, Goldie “Peg” Hummel and Betty Oakley; and three brothers, Delbert “Mike” Munson, Everett Munson, and Eugene Munson.
A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2022, from 12 pm (noon) until the 2:00 memorial service at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, IN. Pastor Brad Sisk will officiate the services.
Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange.
