Margaret Lucille Patterson, age 91, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday evening, March 5, 2023 at Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital in Coldwater.
She was born August 25, 1931 in LaGrange, daughter of the late Ray Owen and Lorema L. (Fitch) Hawkins.
Mrs. Patterson resided in Sturgis for the past 71 years coming from Howe, Indiana where she was a graduate of Brighton High School with the class of 1951.
On June 23, 1951 she married Donald Duane Patterson in Angola. He preceded her in death February 1, 2022.
Margaret retired from Sturgis Molded Products following 30 years of dedicated employment. She had also been employed by the Sturgis Journal, the Transogram Company, Freeman Manufacturing, and Sturgis Newport Business Forms.
She was a member of the Christian Fellowship Center in Sturgis.
Mrs. Patterson enjoyed cooking, crocheting and embroidery work and loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter: Vicki (David Michaels) Patterson of Sturgis; sons: Donald R. (Rolanda) Patterson of Evening Shade, Arkansas and Mike (Cathy) Patterson of Sturgis; six grandchildren: Nicholas (Ashley) Patterson, Benjamin (Elizabeth) Rhodes, Cassandra (Mac) Oglesbee, Cory (Angie) Patterson, Angela Marie (Gregg) Stevens, Pamela Rae (Eric) Miller; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Betty Stutzman and brother: Charles Hawkins.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 Monday, March 13th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Margaret L. Patterson will be held at 1:00 Tuesday, March 14th. Pastor Travis Koeman of the Christian Fellowship Center will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
