Betty Jane Dreger, age 75, of Centreville, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Three Rivers Health. She was born at Lewis Memorial Maternity Hospital in Chicago on December 21, 1947, a daughter of Edward and Estelle (Vail) Gustis. Betty Jane graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago. On May 9, 1970, she married Lawrence Dreger in Chicago, they later divorced.
Betty Jane was a real estate broker for several companies in Chicago. She also worked as a supervisor for CBA-Key Punch Company at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago. Most recently Betty Jane was a crossing guard for Centreville Public Schools. She enjoyed gardening, and loved baking. She received many awards for her chocolate chip cookies at the St. Joseph County Home & Garden Show.
Surviving are her daughter Jeni & Michael Dreger-Frankowski, Centreville, son Marcus I. & Gina Snura-Dreger, Constantine, grandchildren Vinnie Frankowski, Cassie Frankowski, Kiki Dreger, Marcus G. Dreger, Ava Dreger, Mikey Frankowski, and Malina Dreger, sisters Shirl Lapapa and Linda Heaney, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Edward Gustis, Jr.
Relatives and friends will be received at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, with Rosary Services at 7:30 PM. Religious Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 at the funeral home with Fr. R. Mathias, MSFS., of Immaculate Conception Church officiating. Cremation will follow services.
