Samuel Lynn Armey, age 63, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 18, 2023 at his home.
He was born June 7, 1959 in Sturgis, son of the late Paul Jacob and Alma Gene (Longardner) Armey.
Sam resided in Sturgis since 1984 coming from Howe, Indiana. On August 5, 1988 he married Deborah Kay Shipe in Centreville.
Sam had been employed by Rood Industries and Morgan Olson both in Sturgis and Miller’s Floors in Burr Oak, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Sam was an avid collector of antiques, glass bottles, and trinkets. He enjoyed music, especially rock and roll, and his favorite all time band was AC/DC.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 34 years: Deborah; two daughters: Samantha (Matt Casner) Armey of Sturgis and Emily (Matt) Rauguth of Elkhart; three sons: Nicholas Lehman of Boston, Timothy Lehman and Jeremy Lehman both of Middlebury; eight grandchildren: Conner, Abigail, Olivia, Natalie, Elliana, Ethen, Tyler and Kaleb; siblings: Elizabeth Joy (Kevin) Miller of Burr Oak, David (Sharon) Armey of South Bend, Indiana, Steve Armey of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Timothy Armey of Howe, Indiana and Danny (Linda) Armey of Sturgis and several nieces and nephews.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Ricky Armey.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091 is entrusted with the arrangements.
