Pam Walters, 63

Pamela “Pam” Jean Walters (Lewis) of Huntsville, Alabama passed away suddenly on April 6, 2023 at the age of 63.

Pam was born on November 19, 1959 to Clair and Phyllis Lewis in Lansing, Michigan. Pam graduated from Glen Oaks Community College with her RN degree and went on to excel as a nurse for a career spanning 42 years. She was also head union representative for Sturgis Hospital and fought for nurses’ rights and equality.

Pam was a Girl Scout leader for years and helped shape many young girls into progressive young ladies. She had a love for horses, cats, and was compassionate to all animals. Pam would take in anything and anyone who needed to be rescued. She had the biggest heart and wasn’t just a mom to her own three children, but so many who have had the privilege of knowing her called her “Momma Pam.”

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Clair K. Lewis and Phyllis Moultrop Lewis; her brother, Jeffery Lewis; and former husband and love of her life, Brent Walters.

She is survived by her sisters, Kim Weber and Jennifer Easthouse Lewis; her sister-in-law, Karen Andrews Griffin; her loving children, Danielle Walters, Angela Thompson (John), and Travis Walters (Marnie); and her adoring grandchildren, Paige, Haiden, Olivia, Kye, Layla, Keilani, and Sylas.

A memorial in honor of Pam was held at Berryhill Funeral Home, located at 2305 N Memorial Pkwy, Huntsville, AL 35810.
