Jeffrey L Blough, age 68, of Shipshewana, died on Friday, April 28, 2023 at his home. He was born August 31, 1954 in Three Rivers, a son of Ernest and Agnes (Chrisman) Blough. Jeff graduated from Middlebury High School in 1972 and then from the Regional Police Academy, Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He later received his BGS, Social and Behavioral Sciences and MPA, Public and Community Service Management degrees from Indiana University. On June 13, 1981 he married Joetta Clark at Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine.
Jeff retired from Security at Parkview Health. He previously worked as a contract investigator through Kroll Government Services and CACI, and Mission Assignment for Civilian Police International working in Kosovo. He also served as Chief of Police in Constantine, and prior to that as a patrol officer in both Constantine and White Pigeon. Jeff taught criminal justice classes at several colleges including Harrison College and Indiana Tech, as well as teaching American Government part time at Glen Oaks. Jeff was active in the D.A.R.E program for 14 years.
He was a life time member of Messiah Lutheran Church, serving in many roles. He enjoyed his time as Cub Scout Master and Asst. Scout Master with the Boy Scouts. Jeff loved spending time with his family, camping, antique cars and tractors.
Surviving are his wife Joetta Blough, Shipshewana, sons Joshua (Karen) Blough, Christchurch New Zealand, Jonahs (Heather Harmon) Blough, LaGrange, daughter Josaliegh (Steve) Dillon, White Pigeon, granddaughters Jade and Juno Dillon, sister Vicky Blough, Constantine.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Jocelynn Blough.
Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday, May 2 from 4 to 7 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church, 185 W. 5th St. in Constantine, where Religious services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, with Pastor Tom Pederson officiating. Burial will be in White Pigeon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Messiah Lutheran Church.
