Helen A. Noe, age 94, of Constantine, died on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at her home. She was born August 7, 1928 in Three Rivers, a daughter of Ernest and Emma (Milbrandt) Willman. Helen graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1945. On April 21, 1951 she married August “Augie” Noe in Three Rivers. Helen worked for several years at Continental Can Company in Three Rivers, and ran the family farm with Augie where many nieces and nephews enjoyed summer vacations.
Helen was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Three Rivers and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was a member of the Kalamazoo Antique Auto Restorers Club and the Three Rivers Classic and Antique Restorers Club. The annual “Dust Off” was held at the farm from 1963 to 1987. Helen will be remembered for her grace, charm, and giving. She was a wonderful hostess and excellent cook, especially known for her pie making which she shared with friends and family, as well as providing pies for Relay For Life, and many other charity events. She knew everyone’s favorite and always had it on hand when you visited. Helen enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She will always be remembered for her loving care of Augie for 25 years following his accident. Helen loved being around people; hosting, or going to a good restaurant with her family, friends, and their children.
Surviving are her niece and caretaker Mary Margaret Eagan. Nieces – Barbara Black-Eckert, Diana Mims, and Carol Smittendorf. Nephews – Mike Willman, Ernie Willman, Mark Hotovy, Rodger Hoyt, Louie Noe, Gordon Smittendorf, John Noe, Curtiss Wall, and Michael Wall. As well as many Great and Great-Great Nieces and Nephews.
Helen will be reunited with many in Heaven including her parents, husband Augie, brothers Ernest Willman, Emil Willman, sisters Emma Hollopeter, Elsie Yoder, Louise Hotovy, and nephew Rick Hollopeter.
Relatives and friends will be received Monday from 4 to 7 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, and also at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Three Rivers on Tuesday from 12 to 1PM. Religious services will follow at 1:00 with Pastor Ron Moritz officiating. Burial will be in Peek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
