Robert Dewayne Stahl, age 66, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Thursday morning, May 25, 2023 at his home.
He was born September 23, 1956 in Three Rivers, son of Robert and Josata (Clark) Stahl.
Bob resided in Sturgis most of his life with the exception of the few years he lived in Florida.
On July 23, 1994 he married Jean Jackson at the Elks Lodge in Sturgis.
Bob retired March 31, 2023 from JM Equipment in Sturgis following several years of dedicated employment. He had also worked as a welder and fabricator at several other area manufacturing companies.
Bob enjoyed the game of golf and was a longtime member of the Cedar Lake Golf Course in Howe, Indiana. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Bob cherished time spent with whole family but especially with the love of his life, Jean. Bob was known as Grandpa Bob by many of his friend’s children and grandchildren’s friends.
He is survived by his loving and dedicate wife: Jean; his daughters: Danielle (Dave) Garl of Denver, Colorado, Brandi Murphy of Three Rivers and Rachel Harris of Three Rivers; grandchildren: Kaine (Salina) Stauffer of Bronson, Zachary Opdycke of Three Rivers, Jaidon and Cross Wiles and Ricky Shafer all of Sturgis and Brandon and Gracie; his mother: Josata Summey of Florida; sisters: Sheryl Stahland, Shannon Stahl both of Florida; brothers: Brian (Lisa) Summey and Steve (Sherry) Gouker both of Florida; best friend and brother-in-law: Tim “Bro” Cundiff of Howe, Indiana and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and his many friends that will remember him forever.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother: Robert and Lorna Stahl; step-father: Gary Summey; grandson: Austin Opdycke and sister: Cathy Cundiff and many close friends.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00, Saturday, June 10th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis where a memorial service celebrating the life of Robert Stahl will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00. Pastor Josh Herrema of Radiant Life Church in Sturgis will officiate.
