K-9 helps find missing child

Three Rivers K-9 officer Finn is credited with helping a 7-year-old child with autism return home safely.

Det. Sam Smallcombe said officers were made aware shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday about a missing person. Officers responded to the 1100 block of Hannah Street, where Finn established a scent.

A short time later, Finn and officers located the child five blocks from where he was reported missing.

Finn is a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois. He has been with the Three Rivers department since October.
