Joseph Eicher, age 61, of Sturgis, passed away Friday morning, June 16, 2023 at his home.
He was born November 12, 1961 in Sturgis, son of Jacob and Barbara (Steury) Eicher.
Joe was a lifelong Sturgis area resident and a member of the Burr Oak High School class of 1980.
Most all of his working life was in the auto and repair and for several years he had been employed as a mechanic at KS Auto Service in Sturgis.
He was member of the Locust Grove Mennonite Church in Burr Oak.
Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing, especially when he was behind the wheel of his number 55 stock car.
He is survived by his daughter: Tiffany (Ryan) Lakey of Centreville; sons: Samuel Eicher and Jonathon Eicher both of Sturgis; grandchildren: Noak, Cayden, Laila and Ryan, II; mother: Barbara Rasbaugh of Burr Oak; brother: Robert (Susie) Rasbaugh of Bronson; sister: Teresa (Billy Walton) Metz of Nottawa and brother-in-law: Rick Bowman of Three Rivers.
He was preceded in death by his father: Jacob “Jake” Eicher; step-father: Robert “Joe” Rasbaugh and sister: Esther Bowman.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 on Saturday, June 24th at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 29525 Findley Rd., Burr Oak, where services will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00. Robert Rasbaugh and Nathan Rasbaugh will officiate. A graveside committal will take place at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Burr Oak.
