Phyllis Ann Buckhold, age 92, of Three Rivers, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Beacon Health System – Three Rivers surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 13, 1931 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Luther E. and Elma Rose (Trenary) Tracy, and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1949. She also attended Western Michigan University for three years.
Phyllis was a longtime member and pillar of support for First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers, serving as a Sunday School teacher for many years and participating in the United Methodist Women. She volunteered with the domestic assault shelter and the Three Rivers food pantry.
Decades of students knew her as a substitute teacher in the 1980s and 1990s, and she shared her musical talents playing organ for Hohner Funeral Home.
Phyllis married Darwin Buckhold on August 29, 1953 in Three Rivers; they shared 46 years of marriage prior to his passing November 11, 1999.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Tracy (Steve) Adams, Linda (Milton) Burdick, Ron (Patty) Buckhold, and Amy (Rodney) Arnold; grandchildren, Jason (Laurie) Adams, April (Chris) Barnhart, Wayne (Sarah) McCollum, McKenna Burdick, Mitchell Burdick, Ashley (Casey) Brandys, Adam Buckhold, Lindsey (Caleb) Daulton, and Nichole (Ian) Peterson; 16 great-grandchildren; special friend, Lane Wells; brother-in-law, Del (Nancy) Buckhold.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 15, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until her Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 215 N. Main St., Three Rivers. Pastor Derl Keefer will officiate.
Donations in Phyllis’ memory may be directed to First United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Hohner Funeral Home.
