Mary Lucille Conway, age 82, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne after a decade-long battle with dementia.
She was born Dec. 23, 1940 in Kalamazoo, a daughter of the late Melvin and Lucille (Schleisman) Hendrick.
On January 17, 1961 she married Robert G. Conway in Kalamazoo.
Mary has been a resident of Sturgis for the past 10 years, previously living in Kalamazoo, Oklahoma City, and Franklin, TN.
She had been employed by the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, and she enjoyed reading and bible study.
Surviving are her husband: Robert, 2 sons: Michael (Lainie) Conway of Sturgis, and William (Penny) Conway of Lawton; 1 brother: Michael (Pat) Hendrick of Three Rivers; 1 nephew: Joseph Hendrick; 3 nieces: Michele (Saurabh) Bhan, Sarah Hendrick, and Laura Hendrick. She is also survived by her long-term caregiver, Annita (Joey) Michielsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Oaklawn Cemetary in Sturgis at 11:00. Memorials in honor or Mary L. Conway may be directed to a Christian charity of your choice.
