Marguerite Jean Miller, age 98, of Sturgis, passed away Monday morning, July 17, 2023, at her home.
She was born October 7, 1924, in Centreville, daughter of the late John and Josephine (Hasbrouck) Bolender.
Mrs. Miller resided in the Sturgis, Three Rivers, and Centreville areas her entire life, and was a graduate of Centreville High School.
On February 16, 1946 she married Nyle Cameron Miller in Centreville. Following 62 years of marriage, he preceded her in death July 5, 2008.
For many years she worked with Nyle as the bookkeeper for Miller Brothers Standard Station in Sturgis. If asked she would tell you her real job was being a dedicated homemaker, wife, and loving mother.
She enjoyed sewing, flower and vegetable gardening, and keeping an immaculate yard and home. Mrs. Miller truly loved times surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her sons: James (Patti) Miller of Sturgis, and Bradley Miller of Greenland, Michigan, daughter: Kristin (Phillip) Kellogg of Sturgis, 11 grandchildren: Molly Miller, Jami Miller, Amy (Scott) Neely, Ryan (Ashley) Miller, Adam Miller, Berkley (Skigh) Lewis, Meagan (John) Fennell, Bethany (Eric) Farmer, Tyler Kellogg, Zachary Kellogg and Lauren (Carlos) Albor; 28 great grandchildren and expecting number 29 in August; sister, Nancy Wagner of Lansing, and brother, Raymond Bolender of Sun City, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son: Jeffrey A. Miller; sister: Dorothy Stiver and brothers: Paul and Richard Bolender.
Private family services and burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers. Mr. Phillip Kellogg will officiate.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
