The search for a 73-year-old Three Rivers woman – missing since late May – has concluded with the discovery of her body.
Undersheriff Jason Bingaman said search-and-rescue personnel with Christian Aid Ministries located a body believed to be that of Marilee Furlong in a wooded area off Miller Road in Cass County’s Marcellus Township.
The body was discovered around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Furlong, 73, had been missing since May 29. She was last seen leaving her daughter’s home on Flatbush Road in Flowerfield Township. Furlong had dementia and was entered as a missing person with searches beginning the same day.
Bingaman said searches continued throughout the investigation, which included hundreds of emergency service and volunteer personnel across thousands of hours.
Confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office is pending.
