James Jay Reynolds, Sr., age 89, of Marcellus, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at home.
He was born in South Bend on April 1, 1934 the son of Roy Stanley and Harriet Blanche (Bohney) Reynolds.
On August 25, 1956 he married Janice Margaret Medd who preceded him in death in January of 2006.
James was a lifelong owner and operator of his own farm. He was also a life member of the Marcellus VFW Post 4045, Marcellus Masonic Lodge and the Ideal Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He lived in the same house from nine months of age for his entire life until his death. He owned his own plane, loved to fly, and traveled extensively worldwide to every country, which included a train ride across Russia.
James is survived by his significant other of many years Jo-Ann Webster of Marcellus, daughter; Colleen (James) Horn of Hessel, MI; sons James Reynolds, Jr. of Schoolcraft, Mark Reynolds of New Orleans; eight grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; four great-greatgrandchildren and many cousins.
James was preceded in death by his dad and mom Claude Jay Bohney and Dessa Alice Ayres; wife Janice Reynolds, grandsons; Shaun Horn and Benjamin Reynolds.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, 52780 M-40 North, Marcellus. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 on Monday, July 31, 2023 with Pastor John Messner of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Marcellus Bly Cemetery.
