MDOT approves 5 year transportation plan

Michigan Department of Transportation has approved a transportation plan covering a five-year period, and a number of local roads are included.

The window, from 2024 through 2028, includes reconstruction of portions of M-60, M-86 and the U.S. 131 Business Route in the Three Rivers area.

In addition, the Portage River bridge on East Michigan Avenue is targeted for replacement, while overlays are being proposed for the two bridges on West Michigan Avenue at the Rocky River.

Other major projects involving St. Joseph County roads include rehabilitation of nearly 3 1/2 miles of M-66 from the state line to Lafayette Street and M-86 in Centreville between Nottawa Street and Shimmel Road.
