Harry Ward, 84

Harry L. Ward, age 84, of Constantine, died Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Beacon Three Rivers Health Hospital. He was born in Lancaster, WI on March 16, 1939, a son of Lyal and Eva (Tindell) Ward. Harry attended Three Rivers High School with the class of 1957 and served in the US Air Force from 1956 until 1959. On December 29, 2006 Harry married Stephennie Knox in Apache Junction, AZ.

Harry worked for several companies, beginning with Peterson Springs and Wheel Camper. He then worked with his brother at Ward Concrete. Following this he was employed at Harvestor, and finally GM Hydro, American Axle retiring in 2003 after 23 years of employment.

Harry enjoyed fishing, the rain, riding his Harley, bowling, and drag racing. He was proud of his home and loved spending time with his family. He also liked golf and football and watching the grandchildren’s sporting events. Harry was a snazzy dresser and enjoyed dancing and jazz.

Surviving are his wife Stephennie Knox-Ward, son Wendell (Betty) Bowen, daughter Roxann (Craig) Raymond, son LT (Kelly) Ward, daughter Eva (Nate) Conklin, son Chip Ward; grandchildren Trenton Miller, Isaac Conklin, Addy Ward, Ashleigh Raymond, Ty Raymond; great grandchildren Ellianna, Sidney, and Macy Grace; sisters Sally Cullimore, Kay (Bob) Teadt and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Richard, William and Frank.

Relatives and friends will be received Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine from 2 to 5 PM. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph County Animal Control Shelter. Cremation will follow and private interment of ashes will take place in Constantine Township Cemetery at a later date.
