Ronald Lee Overholt, age 75, of Three Rivers, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at his home and with family at his side. He was born in Sturgis on August 7, 1948 the son of John W. and Lydia J. (Yoder) Overholt. He graduated from Colon High School with the class of 1968. Ron was drafted into the United States Army in 1968 and proudly served his country with the 82nd Air Borne Division in Vietnam. Upon his return in 1970 he went to work at the Kirsch Company in Sturgis where he was a fork-lift operator for thirty years. After the closing of Kirsch, he worked at Owens-Illinois in Constantine and retired from its successor company, Rexam.
Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to his chickens. He especially liked being outdoors, mowing his lawn and tending to his pool. He loved family time, especially with his grandchildren by providing daycare at “Grammy and Pops”.
Ron was married to Victoria A. Wilder on April 25, 1992 in Leonidas. She survives along with five children, Angela L. (Dustin) Jasper of Sturgis, Jason (Megan) Overholt of Radcliff, KY, Clarice (Daniell) Green of Centreville, Austin (Tia) Brooks of Sturgis, and Derek (Jessika) Brooks of Constantine; twenty grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six siblings, Leanna (Jerry) Heath, Marie Noel, Edna May (Willard) Heath, Melvin (Shirley) Overholt, twin Donald (Sue) Overholt, and Linda (Ronald) Hudson; mother-in-law, Blanch Overholt; many nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Lester Noel; nephews, Todd Overholt and Doug Heath; father-in-law, Clarence Overholt; uncle, Kenny Overholt; aunt, Katherine Mast; aunt, Irene Troyer; and cousin, Ron Yoder.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Firm Foundation Ministries in Centreville. Funeral services will begin at 4 pm Thursday at the church with Pastors, Don Smith and Rod Detweiler officiating. Military honors will take place at the church and interment will follow in Leonidas Cemetery. It is suggested that memorial contributions be directed to the Firm Foundation Ministries Building Fund.
