Grant will help fund Fresh Food Distribution

Gateway Village Apartments of Sturgis has received a generous grant from the Sturgis Area Community Foundation to help fund the Fresh Food Distribution Program, in collaboration with the South Michigan Food Bank.

The grant – provided by the Sturgis Area Community Foundation – will enable Gateway Village Apartments to continue supplying fresh food. The Fresh Food Distribution Program is aimed at ensuring local families have access to essential food resources.

Cindi Pennington, Property Manager of Gateway Village Apartments Sturgis, said the Fresh Food Distribution Program at Gateway Village Apartments plays a significant role in addressing nutritional needs of local residents. The program not only supplies essential food items but also promotes community engagement and a sense of togetherness, Pennington said.

The next distribution at Gateway will occur at 10:30 a.m. Thursday next week.
