United Way announces draw-down fundraiser winners

St. Joseph County United Way recently conducted its 12th annual Mega Raffle fundraiser.

Agency director Kelly Hostetler said 330 tickets were sold for $100 each. She said 14 of 19 lucky ticket owners received their money back.

The draw-down style saw the fifth ticket remaining belonged to Hailey Carter, who won $1,000. The fourth remaining ticket was worth a $2,000 payout, issued to Pam Moffine. The third-to-last ticket was purchased by Eric Wynes, who received $3,000. Mary Bogart won $4,000 for having the second-to-last ticket drawn. The $5,000 winner was Andrew Kuk, Sturgis city clerk, whose ticket was the last one drawn.

The Centreville-based agency cleared $16,000 through the event, Hostetler said.
