Stephanie Dobrowolski, 88

Stephanie Dobrowolski, 88, of Three Rivers, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans where she had resided the past four years. She was born in Standish on Sept. 25, 1921 the daughter of Michael and Frances (Dabros) Dobrowolski, and was a resident of Park Township since 1929. Stephanie graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1939 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a radio instructor during WWII. She worked at Weyerhaeuser in Three Rivers for 47 years, retiring in 1985. Stephanie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the American Legion in Three Rivers. She was very patriotic and especially proud of her service to her country. She was also the primary caregiver for her mother during her final illness. Stephanie was described as generous, caring, and devoted to her family.

Stephanie is survived by a brother, Chet Dobrowolski, and his wife, Bernice of Three Rivers; sister-in-law, Betty Dobrowolski; 15 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and -nephews; 11 great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joseph and Wesley Dobrowolski; sister-in-law, Ethel Dobrowolski; nephew Timothy Dobrowolski; niece, Cindy Biggs.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Rev. Father Mark Vyverman officiating. Military rites will be by Hice-Shutes American Legion Post #170. Cremation will follow services, and a private interment of ashes will take place later in Moorepark Cemetery.
