Josh Shudell, 45

Joshua Joseph Shudell, age 45, peacefully left this earth on All Saints’ Day, Wednesday, November 1st, 2023. He was born on October 12, 1978 in Landstuhl, W Germany.
Josh was a son, brother, uncle, father and friend. Josh was full of life, passionate, caring, funny and wore his heart on his sleeve. Josh was the type of person that would always lend a hand or give you the shirt off his back. He went out of his way to help everyone. He loved making people laugh. While Josh faced many fierce battles in his time on earth, he always remained strong and compassionate.
On January 15, 2017, Joshua was in an accident which changed his life and those around him forever. The injuries sustained in the accident would render Joshua physically injured for the rest of his life.
Before his accident, he loved to play guitar, many may know him in White Pigeon as the guitarist for Sin Division, a local band. He was a self taught musician, having no formal lessons. He loved music and art, and was gifted at drawing. You could always find him playing his guitar and loving those around him.
Josh’s greatest joy was his son. He loved being a father.  Josh is survived by his Son: Leviathan Shudell, Mishawaka; Mother: Molly (Jim) VanZile, White Pigeon; Father: Christopher Shudell, Dearborn; Siblings: Rachel Shudell of Peoria, AZ, Isaiah (Jessica) Shudell of White Pigeon, Jacob Shudell of White Pigeon, Rebekah Shudell; Step-Siblings: Jimmy (Bobbie) VanZile of Schoolcraft, Mandy (Meagan) VanZile of Lebanon, TN, Andrea (Paul) De León of Washington, DC, Austin VanZile of Constantine; Grandmother: Caroline (Tom) Bodenmiller of Peoria, AZ;  and many Nieces, and Nephews who he adored; Special Persons: Tabitha Thurston of Mishawaka, IN; Cynthia Basker of South Bend, IN. And all the many friends he made along the way.
We know you are at peace now Josh, and watching over us all. When we hear a strum of a guitar, see the glorious sunrise or sunset and feel the warm summer breeze we will know you are near. We will love and miss you till the end of time. We will grieve for the loss and what could’ve been, but will forever cherish the memories and time we had together. We hope  you’re jamming with the greats up there! Rachel said to give Tammy a ham & cheese sandwich!
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday November 18, 2023 at 1:00. It will take place in our home, 311 E Peck Ave, White Pigeon, MI 49099. Please bring your favorite memory of Josh.
