A popular holiday program is returning to Three Rivers this season.
“Firefighters for Santa,” a program undertaken by Three Rivers Fire Department, is partnering with St. Joseph County United Way for the 2023 program.
The United Way will act as a fiduciary agent for the program, granting all donations made to the cause to the Three Rivers Fire Department Firefighters Association, whose members will purchase gifts to be distributed during the event.
In coming weeks, toy-collection boxes will be placed at locations throughout the community. There is a need for wrapping paper, tape and bows, which can also be added to collection boxes.
Firefighters next month will distribute gifts to children in 25 Three Rivers homes, based on requests provided by Three Rivers elementary schools.
