Connie Ritter, 79

Connie L. Ritter, age 79, of Sturgis, passed away late Friday evening, December 1, 2023 at Edgewood Health and Rehabilitation in Three Rivers.

She was born January 4, 1944 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Charles W. and Pauline M. (Haack) Jeffery.

Connie was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1962.

On September 15, 1962 she married Thurman A. “Butch” Ritter, Jr. in Sturgis.

Connie retired from Sturgis Public Schools following many years of dedicated employment as an educational assistant.

She was a member of the Radiant Life Church in Sturgis.

Connie is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 62 years: Thurman “Butch” Ritter; daughter: Debra (Robert) Smith of Three Rivers; son: Michael (Kristi) Ritter of Sturgis; grandchildren: Cree Kayle, Treeva Bolkuls, Kalie Ritter and Corbin Ritter; great grandchildren: Lyra L. Bolkuls and Ronan Bolkuls sister-in-law: Joyce Jeffery of Thailand; half-brothers: David (Darlene) Porter and Douglas Porter and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father: Harvey E. Arent and brother: Thomas M. Jeffery.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later date.
