Bill helps dogs used laboratory experiments

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer last week signed a bill that would give dogs used in painful experiments, a chance at a happy life.

“Teddy’s Law” was named after a beagle used in an unnecessary, one-year pesticide test contracted by Dow Agrosciences in Michigan. Following a Humane Society investigation into the laboratory, Teddy was released from the experiments. Teddy and beagles who were released with him were spared from the typical fate of euthanasia following experiments.

The bill aims to ensure dogs have higher standards of care while in the laboratory and gives them the chance to get adopted after the pain that they have endured.

Today, Teddy lives his life with a loving family that recently adopted him.
