Constantine approves expansion proposal

Constantine Village Council members last month approved expanding its Industrial District to benefit a local business.

During their Dec. 18 meeting, council members OK’d the expansion proposal for Michigan Milk Producers Association.

Village manager Mark Honeysett said the expansion is on property MMPA already owns. It is located at 455 E. Water St.

MMPA officials said the property will be leased to Ontario-based Dairy Distillery Alliance. Honeysett said it intends to build an ethanol distillery and wastewater-treatment plant on the site. He said the facility will manufacture ethanol from milk permeate, a byproduct of MMPA’s ultrafiltration of milk.

  2. Geez Louise! Right on top of Riverview Park? The destination riverwalk, playground, fitness trail? Where the Harvest Fest, 4th of July and other family celebrations take place? What the heck?
