Genevieve “Genny” Ruth DeJesus-Rivera, 80, of Three Rivers, loving wife and mother, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 after a short battle with cancer. Genevieve was born in Detroit the daughter of Lorence and Ruth (Hanlon) Johnson. She was employed by National Bank of Detroit, retiring in the early 80’s to pursue traveling. She traveled to Puerto Rico several times and lived short stints in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida before moving back to Michigan in July of 2005.
Genevieve married Andres DeJesus-Rivera II of Three Rivers in October 1975 and he survives; also surviving are sons, Doug Pabis of Portage, Bill (Becky) Myers of Three Rivers, Ed Myers of Garden City, Michael (Faye) DeJesus of Maylene, Ala., David (Lori) DeJesus of Lexington, Ky., Andres “Butch” (Christian) III of Chicago, Ill.; daughters, Anna “Anita” DeJesus-Rivera of, Lexington, Ky. and Sandra “DeeDee” (Brian) DeJesus-Bodine; grandchildren, April Myers (Mark Sinclair), Bill Myers, Lisa Stoner, Kim Clemence, Cindy, David Jr. (Heather) DeJesus, Michelle (James) Allen, Nicole Bryan, Jonathan DeJesus, Michael E. and Gabriel DeJesus, C.J. DeJesus, Andres “Little Andy” IV, Tiffany, Trever and Corteney. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Audry DeJesus-Rivera; granddaughter, Serina DeJesus; grandson, Eric Clemence.
Services for Genevieve will be Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. at the Three Rivers Church of the Nazarene, 1221 Coon Hollow Road, Three Rivers, with Pastor Bob Anderson officiating.
