Craig Rowe, 53

Craig Evan Rowe (Butch), age 53, of White Pigeon, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the Avenue at Macedonia skilled nursing facility in Macedonia, Ohio. Craig was born December 28, 1970 in Sturgis, son of Lonnie Rowe and Carolyn (Roberts) Beardsley.

On August 18, 1997 he married Nancy Wolf in Lagrange, lived in Sturgis and White Pigeon, and worked at Viking Clan in Middlebury. In September of 2020, Nancy divorced Craig at the peak of Covid, causing him to move several times from a hospital in Dowagiac, to a rehabilitation hospital in Mishawaka, and then to SKLD Beltline skilled nursing facility in Grand Rapids in January 2021. In May of 2021, his sister Tammy was able to relocate him to a nursing home in Hudson, Ohio, then to Avenue at Aurora in August that same year, then lastly to Avenue at Macedonia December 22, 2023 so he could see his mother one last time. He celebrated his 53rd birthday with his mom, sister Tammy and brother-in-law Gary. His mom passed away in that same facility on January 9, 2024.

Craig had a difficult life, in and out of hospitals most of his life, but enjoyed playing guitar in a local band “About Face” and spending time with his family. He was also an excellent sketch artist with pencil and paper. He lived in Jupiter, Florida as a child for approximately 11 years, and had fond memories of playing in the waves and at the beach.

Craig was preceded in death by his mother Carolyn (Roberts) Beardsley, sister Holly Rowe, and grandmother Geneva (Mercer) Roberts, grandfather Jesse Rowe, grandmother Ceece Rowe, grandmother Tresse Shahnasarian, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is survived by father Lonnie Rowe (Roxanne) of Elkhart; half-brother Jeremy (Jayme) Rowe of Edwardsburg; half-brother Jonathon (Katie) & daughters: Charlotte & Josie of Elkhart; ex-wife Nancy Wolf of White Pigeon; step-daughter Brittany (Adrian) Wolf, step-grandchildren Gage, Kiera, and Caiden of Sturgis; step-son Dustin Wolf, step grandchildren, Violet, Joshua, Nicholas, Zabrien, and Izin; sister Tammy (Gary) Shoemaker of Northfield, Ohio; sister Anna (Gary) Sizemore of Sealy, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be at Commission on Aging “The Oaks” Enrichment Center, 306 N. Franks Avenue, Sturgis, MI 49091 on Saturday, July 27, 2024, time to be determined and will be announced as the date nears.
