The city of Three Rivers has a continued lead-action level exceedance for its drinking water system.
According to a media release issued last week, lead-action level exceedance means that locations within the city’s drinking water system have lead test results over 15 parts per billion, which is recognized as the EPA’s drinking water Action Level. Tests collected between July and December 2023 also featured results in excess of the level.
The goal for lead in drinking water is 0 ppb. An “Action Level Exceedance” means more than 10 percent of the homes tested have results over 15 ppb.
As a reminder, filters are available to city residents serviced by the municipal water system. Filters can be picked up at city hall, DPW headquarters on South Lincoln Avenue and the tri-county health department’s Three Rivers location on Hill Street.
