Man arrested following crash

A Three Rivers man was arrested on alcohol-related charges following an incident earlier this week in Three Rivers.

Authorities said the man was involved in a single-vehicle crash shortly after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Jefferson and Fourth streets.

A 5-year-old child inside the driver’s vehicle suffered serious injuries to the facial area, investigators said. Medical personnel from the Three Rivers Fire Department took life-saving steps to stabilize the child’s condition.

Investigators said the child was airlifted to Bronson Hospital.

Officers conducted an investigation of the crash and concluded the incident occurred in a school zone. The 43-year-old Three Rivers resident was under the influence of alcohol, officers said.

The suspect, father of the child, was arrested on several charges, police said.
