Nancy Adele Berger, age 66, peacefully passed from this life on Thursday, March 21, 2024. She is survived by her loving brothers Robert (Debbie) Berger and Richard (Karen) Berger, along with several treasured nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Robert K Berger and Ruth Jacoby Berger, and her sister Linda Diane Berger.
A longtime Michigander, Nancy was born and raised in Chicago’s western suburbs (Lombard/Villa Park) and graduated from Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, IL. Her teenage years were filled with summer fun at her parent’s home on Klinger Lake in White Pigeon. Nancy served as the unofficial water ski instructor and boat driver for numerous friends and relatives who got up on skies for the first time. Every skiing success was a new reason for celebration. The countless turns around Klinger Lake never got old. The family boat certainly logged the most laps with Nancy at the helm.
Summer fun eventually had to make way for more serious matters, and Nancy attended Glen Oaks Community College and then Western Michigan University to complete her teaching degree. Teaching was her passion and she spent her career years at Central Elementary in White Pigeon. Nancy met every new school year with optimism and enthusiasm as each new class eagerly filtered through the door. She eventually made her home on Fish Lake in White Pigeon where she enjoyed tending a lovely garden. Nancy was a dedicated pet parent, and had several dogs and cats over the years; some of which she adopted, and some that simply adopted her. Through it all, Nancy always remained the cherished auntie whose nieces and nephews took immense delight in spending time with her. She will be greatly missed.
Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon was entrusted with final arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
