Pedestrian struck by two cars on US-131

This morning at 5:38am, St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to US-131 near Wilbur Road (North junction) for a report of a car vs. pedestrian traffic crash. Once on scene, Three Rivers and Fabius Fire Departments provided medical attention to a 39-year-old male. Deputies interviewed motorists in two separate vehicles which had struck the pedestrian on the south bound lane of US-131. The pedestrian sustained injuries, however, was conscious and alert and was transported to Kalamazoo for further medical treatment. Both motorists did not sustain any injuries. One motorist indicated the pedestrian had jumped in front of his vehicle. This crash is still under investigation by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office. The name of the pedestrian was not released.
