US Sen Peters calls USPS absolutely critical

U.S. Sen. Gary Peters recently issued a media release centering on the United States Postal Service.

He called the agency “absolutely critical” to the country and noted there are serious consequences if the service is disrupted.

Peters said USPS is making significant changes to its processing and distribution network in several locations, including Michigan. He said the Upper Peninsula is greatly impacted.

Peters said he recently staged a hearing to conduct oversight on the operations of the postal service. He vowed to continue holding the USPS accountable and to an acceptable standard.

  1. I know permits are costly and required for bulk mailers (businesses, non-profits, politicians, etc.) but I suggest a raise in the piece rate postage. I’m paying $0.68 for first class mail, but receiving dozens of pieces of campaign mailings, donation requests, and advertisments at just pennies…, $0.05-$0.06 each.
