Due to Thursday’s passing of assistant prosecutor Melissa Hallack, a candidate forum that was to include the three contestants for St. Joseph County prosecutor Thursday evening was postponed.
Hallack died in a two-vehicle crash in Mendon Township around 8 a.m. Thursday.
The re-scheduled session starts at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Glen Oaks Community College. In addition to prosecutor’s office candidates, the forum will feature contestants vying for probate judge as well as a group running for 36th District state representative.
The first night of the candidate forum was Wednesday. It featured drain commissioner Jeff Wenzel and a quintet of candidates running for sheriff.
