The city of Sturgis this weekend is hosting its second of four Styrofoam recycling events of 2024.
The drop-off runs 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the city’s compost site, 27751 E. Fawn River Road.
Acceptable items include polystyrene foam, such as foam cups and “to-go” containers, egg cartons, ice chests, rinsed meat trays, protective packaging foam often used to brace electronics during shipping and other foam with the No. 6 triangle.
In addition, the city is looking for volunteers to help at these events. Anyone available to lend a hand should contact Julie Burkey at city hall, 659-7223.
Remaining 2024 recycling dates are Aug. 10 and Nov. 2.
