Postseason awards were handed out by Michigan Softball Coaches Association following the conclusion of the state tournament last week.
A pair of local teams were well-represented with more than one honoree on the First Team for their respective divisions. Both Bronson and Mendon were awarded three players each.
Bronson’s Ashlynn Harris (pitcher), Brealyn Lasky (first base) and Lydia Wells (catcher) were each selected to the First Team. Bronson won 27 games this season and reached the regional finals.
Mendon’s Jadyn Samson (shortstop), Cienna Nightingale (first base) and Rowan Allen (pitcher) were each named to the First Team for their seasons. Ally Butler (utility) was named honorable mention All-State.
For Burr Oak, Brooklynn Root (pitcher) was selected to the honorable mention team for Division 4.
For Division 2, Ava Forman of Three Rivers was selected First Team All-State as a first baseman for the Lady Wildcats.
