Nancy J Schmidtendorff, age 87, of Constantine, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, August 16, 2024. She was born April 29, 1937 to Henry and Grayce (Whitehead) Wyman in Constantine.
Nancy graduated from Constantine High School with the class of 1955. She married her classmate Raymond Schmidtendorff on May 27, 1956. He survives along with their 3 daughters, Valarie (David) Martin, Rochelle (Don) Miller, and Crystal (Dustin) Schrock. Six grandchildren, Tiffany (Steve) Steffel, Chad Miller, Lindsay (Andrew) Pott, Shawn (Gina) Martin, Jordan (Lucas) Odom, and Emily Schrock, great grandchildren Alexander & Evelyn Steffel, Isaac and Faith Pott, Luca Martin, and Zola Odom, and a brother Bruce Wyman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Virginia Wyman. Nancy worked for Constantine Public Schools in Food Service for over 30 years and retired as the manager in June 1999. She enjoyed the many events the family planned, along with crafting, gardening, reading, card games with friends, and traveling with Ray. Nancy was very active throughout her life in a variety of church activities. She taught children’s Sunday School for many years, led and attended numerous bible studies, and served on several committees at church. Nancy led a life well lived and the family will cherish the many memories.
Relatives and friends will be received Monday, August 19, 2024 from 4 to 8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious services will be held 10 am Tuesday at Three Rivers Bible Church with Pastor Jeff Homan officiating. Burial will follow at Constantine Township Cemetery.
