A Niles woman died last week in a single-vehicle crash in Cass County’s Silver Creek Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 11:57 p.m. Thursday to an area on Garrett Road, north of M-62.
Investigators said a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Amanda Huffman was heading south on Garrett Road. The vehicle crossed the centerline and left the east side of the roadway.
Investigators said the vehicle went down a ditch and rolled before coming to rest in a field. Authorities said Huffman was trapped under the vehicle.
She was pronounced deceased at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital. A passenger, Niles resident George Tovey III, also 33, refused medical treatment.
Troopers said it does not appear either alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
