Vicksburg Village Council member Denny Olsen recently expressed concern about two intersections in the area that he said feature an inordinate number of crashes.
During trustee comments at the end of the council’s Aug. 19 meeting, Olsen said he addressed the Kalamazoo County Road Commission Board in July regarding Sprinkle Road and TU Avenue.
Meanwhile, Olsen said he’s aware of a crash at U Avenue and Portage Road that took place two days before a collision at Sprinkle and TU Avenue.
He said Brady Township Supervisor Tracy Locey has submitted a grant request and in November, it will come up for review. Olsen said he would like to see safety measures made at both intersections if the grant is approved.
With or without grant funds, Olsen said more has to be done to make the two intersections safer.

I guarantee if this was put up for vote regarding the two intersections, everyone would want something done. For.now maybe having a police car there at the busiest times would get some perspective. People are not going only 50 mph on Sprinkle. I live on 26th and almost every morning when I arrive to the intersection of Sprinkle and Tu Ave I pray I get across safely. It shouldn’t be like that in our community. I mean at times I have cars behind me that don’t even stop at the stop sign turning right onto Sprinkle Road. How many people have to be injured or killed before people take notice and react?? We the people want something done now!! Do something for God sakes.
