Dallas Eugene Asher, age 63, of Mendon, died on March 31, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born in Hyden, KY on Dec. 1, 1950 the son of Ardell and Gladys (Howard) Asher. The family later moved to Battle Creek where he graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1970. Dallas served in the U.S. Army from 1970-71 and then returned to work at Inter-Bake Foods in Battle Creek. He moved to Mendon and has worked at American Axel in Three Rivers for 21 years.
Dallas was married to Brenda Jo Satterlee on Aug. 29, 1983 in Battle Creek. She survives along with six children, Rhonda (Timothy) Vieyra of Baton Rouge, LA, Heavenly Jo Asher and Samantha Jo (Jeremy) Douglas both of Mendon, Heidi Lynn (Cory) Bennett, Dallas E. Hankison, and Robert T. (Crystal) Hankison all of Battle Creek; six grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald and Michael Asher; three sisters, Jewel Richardson, Ernestine Asher, and Linda Johnson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Phyllis Diane Asher.
Cremation has been conducted. A graveside memorial service will be held 1 p.m. on April 5, 2014 in Mendon Cemetery with Rev. Les Standish, Pastor of Harvesters for Christ officiating.
