Larry Allen Jiles, age 77, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family in Marcellus on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on October 31, 1947, a son to Jack and Gloria (George) Jiles.
Larry married Ursula Gruen on June 19, 1993, in Sevierville, Tennessee. They moved to Marcellus in 2006.
Larry was a carpenter by trade working for the South Bend Carpenters Union.
He loved hunting deer and turkey. Larry also enjoyed fishing. He was a knife collector and liked watching old black and white Westerns. Larry loved country music, especially the country music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. One of his favorite artists was Dwight Yoakam. Larry loved a good family cookout and spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies who will miss their Papa.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Ursula Jiles; Sons: Charles (Melody) Schmehl of Newberry, SC and Shawn Schmehl of Marcellus; 12 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; Sister Pam Rich of Elkhart; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Louie Rich.
In accordance with Larry’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00, at Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers, MI 49093, 269-279-1515.
