A Niles man died following a one-car crash last week in Cass County’s Milton Township.
Sheriff Clint Roach said Michael Jasper, 60, was driving west on Bell Street when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in the vicinity of Ironwood Drive.
Jasper was taken to Niles Lakeland Hospital and subsequently transferred to South Bend Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said Jasper was not wearing a seatbelt.

Then we’d and youd wrap your arms around me so tight n tell me just how much you loved me and we’d go inside only for a few n youd gather your stuff and head on over to the shower house to get cleaned up and id go out on the deck n finish dinner and wait fot you to come back. Youd look so handson when youd get back. (Not that you wasnt handson when youd get back home from working all day. ) Then we would eat dinner n talk about the day. After dinner was done n cleaned up we’d sit outside and look at all the stars in the sky and just enjoy each others company.id be the one who would fall asleep with my head on your chest while your arms were wrapped around me
Youd Wake me up by kissing my forehead and wed go inside n go to bed.
None of that is ever ever goin to happen again.
