Michigan Senate recently passed a bill sponsored by State Sen. John Lindsey, which he hopes will help the public by keeping healthcare costs down.
The Hospital Price Transparency Act would prohibit hospitals from collecting debts if they do not comply with price-transparency laws. Those laws require hospitals to publicly disclose the costs of their treatments and operations.
Lindsey said the legislation passed the Michigan Senate last year but died in a House committee without hearing.
