Search warrants lead to confiscation of illegal drugs

Illegal drugs were found last week at locations in Branch County following the execution of search warrants.

Southwest Enforcement Team members and Michigan State Police executed the search warrants Wednesday following a joint investigation into the production of a product called butane hash oil.

Law-enforcement officials confiscated more than 300 marijuana plants, three firearms and components used to manufacture drugs, authorities said.

The searches took place in Girard and Ovid townships.

Charges are pending against multiple suspects, authorities said.
