Tri-county health officials are scrambling to find help with an urgent situation expected to unfold Tuesday in White Pigeon.
Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency officials said management of White Pigeon Apartments gave notice Friday to its residents that a pest extermination is taking place Tuesday. In preparation, residents – many who are elderly and disabled – are required to empty kitchen and bathroom cupboards, remove all items, cover all furniture and other tasks typically associated with extermination prep.
In addition, residents and their pets must be out of their residence from noon to 4 p.m. Health department officials are in need of volunteers willing to assist residents with preparation and possibly with help transporting the residents from and to the location.
The complex is at 607 E. Chicago Road, in White Pigeon.
Anyone willing to offer assistance is asked to call the Coldwater-based health agency at 517-279-9561, ext. 232.
