Colon seeks donations for pickleball court

Plans to develop a pickleball court at Colon Community Park remain on track, though a bit of help is needed to support the entire project.

Village officials said Branch County Community Foundation last year awarded a $7,000 grant in support of the development. Specifically, it is designed to be a pickleball and half-court basketball court.

Municipal leaders indicated community interest in a pickleball court is high. The current amount of cash in hand is $12,000, leaving the project $4,000 short of its goal.

Donations can be dropped off at Colon Village office, 111 S. St. Joseph St., or mailed to P.O. Box 50, Colon.
