Two injured in White Pigeon Township crash

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash over the weekend in White Pigeon Township.

State police officials said troopers responded shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday to U.S. 12 and Sevison Road regarding a crash with injuries.

Investigators said a 27-year-old White Pigeon resident was driving north on Sevison Road and failed to yield the right-of-way at U.S. 12. The vehicle crashed into an eastbound utility truck driven by a 23-year-old Worthington, Ind., resident.

The force of the collision resulted in the utility truck striking a tree and trapping the driver. The driver was extricated and suffered serious injuries.

The driver from White Pigeon was treated for minor injuries, authorities said.

A stretch of U.S. 12 from Lutz Road to A Road was closed for about six hours.
