Constantine police welcome new canine

Constantine village officials have welcomed the police department’s newest canine member: Riggs.

The 18-month-old Brittany Spaniel is under the care of school resource officer Matt Stark. Stark spends most of his time monitoring Constantine’s high school and middle school, and Riggs has been welcomed warmly by all students.

In fact, the high school has started a behavior- and achievement-based incentive in which “Riggs Bucks” are earned. Riggs Bucks are used to spend time with the animal.

The village recently purchased a 2021 Ford Explorer, which was modified in order to accommodate transporting Riggs safely.
