Cassopolis Police Chief Todd McMichael has issued a warning about a suspect considered a threat to society after stealing a squad car Wednesday.

The suspect was in the process of being arrested around 1 p.m. at an undisclosed location in the city. He managed to not only avoid arrest, but entered a marked patrol car and flee the scene.

The white male, whose name was not disclosed in a department media release, is 43 years old, stands 5-foot-4 and weighs about 200 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes. The vehicle is a 2020 Ford Explorer. The dispatch radio inside the vehicle has been disabled, authorities said.
