Suspect charged in police car theft case

The man who allegedly stole a Cassopolis Police Department squad car has been charged and identified.

Marcellus resident Andy Freshour, 42, was charged last week with 17 felony counts stemming from the incident Wednesday. Authorities said Freshour faces 11 weapons-related charges and three counts related to resisting arrest, Cass County officials said.

Freshour allegedly stole the squad car as officers were attempting to arrest him. The vehicle and Freshour were discovered about five hours later

Bond has been set at $250,000, sheriff’s officials said.
